T.I. - Why You Wanna
One of my favorite tracks off of T.I.’s King borrows heavily from two other songs I love: the keyboard organ from Crystal Waters’ “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)” and Q-tip’s verse from Janet Jackson’s “Gone ‘til It’s Gone.” How can I not like this?!
Cassie - Activate
The three comprehensive mixtapes from “The Cassie Trilogy”, an unofficial collection of Cassie’s post-2006 output. I liked “Me & U” and “King of Hearts” (Richard X Remix) but wasn’t familiar with the rest of her music. I finished the “Dope ‘n Diamonds” mixtape tonight. This one is “a collection of dark electro songs. Cassie’s icy cool, detached vocals are immersed in stabbing synths, ice cream beats, heavy bass & tribal-jungle inspired production”. As I’ve said before, electronic-infused R&B is MY. FAVORITE. (!!!) so this mixtape was a pleasant re-introduction to Cassie. Thank you, Maru!
Other singles and songs from Rihanna I enjoy: “Don’t Stop By the Music”, “Nobody’s Business”, “Skin”, and “Sell Me Candy.”
I can never stay annoyed at this lady.
Rihanna - Nobody’s Business (ft. Chris Brown)
TLC - Red Light Special
Chaka Khan - Stronger Than Before
Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force- Looking for the Perfect Beat
TLC - CrazySexyCool

I heard so much about TLC, but I’ve only got around to this album now.
